I have known the M family since they first moved to Halifax and they got in touch for maternity photos for their second son. I’ve since worked with them multiple times. Building friendships with my photography clients has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work. What begins as a professional interaction often blossoms into something much deeper. Through each session, whether capturing maternity portraits, newborn sessions, or family sessions, I’ve come to understand their stories, dreams, and personalities. It’s not just about taking great photos—it’s about connecting, sharing laughs, and creating a space where they feel comfortable and truly seen. In this case, these moments of trust and openness led to an amazing friendship, where we not only share memories captured in images but also in the genuine bonds we’ve built along the way. We were bubble family during Covid, and we are each other’s people.

We recently got together for some fun in the fall leaves in their backyard. …Yes, I did get leaves in my hair, and so did everyone else!
There’s something truly magical about the crisp autumn air, the way it carries the scent of fallen leaves and the warmth of cherished memories. They played together, laughing as they ran through the piles of golden, amber, and scarlet leaves. Each leap into the crunchy mound felt like an embrace from nature itself. These small, spontaneous moments of joy are the ones we’ll carry with us forever, and capturing them in photos help to instantly transport us back.
