A first birthday cake smash is designed to be short, sweet, and perfectly paced for tiny attention spans. Sessions are relaxed and playful, following your baby’s lead with no pressure to perform and no forcing smiles or mess. Cake is entirely optional. You’re welcome to bring your own cake, especially if your little one has dietary restrictions. I also have balloons, toys, and thoughtfully curated props to keep the experience fun and engaging, along with a faux cake if you’d prefer to skip the sugar altogether. If you’d like a cake provided, I work with a local baker to create beautiful, simple naked smash cakes for $65 in addition to your session fee.

When should I book?
To ensure availability—especially for coveted weekend dates—families are encouraged to book 1–2 months in advance. Maternity and newborn clients should aim to reserve their sessions during the second trimester to avoid stress and potential scheduling issues. While we occasionally have last-minute openings, advance booking is the best way to secure your preferred date.
What is the booking process?
Booking is simple—just fill out a quick online agreement, and I’ll send an invoice for the $300 session fee. Once both are submitted, your date is officially reserved. I also recommend a pre-session chat (in person or by phone) to go over all the details, including what to wear.
When will we receive our photos?
Your images will be lightly retouched and ready for your reveal and ordering appointment in about 10-14 days. Once you decide which images to order, I will meticulously retouch and deliver within about 2 weeks. Product delivery varies depending on the product.

Your private reveal and ordering appointment is a thoughtfully guided experience designed to help you pause and reconnect with the moments we’ve captured. Seeing your images for the first time on a large projection screen brings the emotion forward in a way that feels immersive, meaningful, and personal.
Together, we’ll thoughtfully curate your favourite images and explore how your memories can live on, from refined digital collections to heirloom artwork and albums. You’ll be able to see, touch, and compare samples, consider sizes and finishes with guidance, and place your order during the appointment. The result is a relaxed, elevated experience where decisions feel easy, enjoyable, and completely off your to-do list.
How do I install and care for my art?
Good news: If you order multiple pieces of wall art, I will deliver and install it for you! If you are going the DIY route, choosing a hanging space under softer artificial light or bounce light, out of the direct rays of the sun.
