Business headshots in Halifax

I have the pleasure of having wonderful neighbours, several of which have come by for business headshots, pet portraits, family photos, and maternity and newborn photography. When Andrea needed an updated business headshot, she gave me a call, and we got a ton of variety in under an hour. Here are a few of my favourites.

    Business headshots on location

If your company has a boardroom or a large office, or you have access to one, business headshots for your team are easy. It can be as simple as a blank wall (as pictured here). We bring all of the professional lighting and camera equipment to transform your space into a studio, and your staff can come and go with ease and then get back to their day. When prepping everyone on what to wear, suggest that they dress for their best client, and choose solid colours. Bonus points if clothing coordinates with your brand, because online and in print, subconsciously it will appear more polished.

      Business Headshots Halifax

Have you ever met someone for a meeting, and felt a disconnect between the profile photo you saw online and the person standing in front of you shaking your hand? Having an up to date photo of yourself at your current age (and looking fabulous), with your current haircut and stlyed the way you normally wear it can go a long way to building trust with the people you meet. If you don’t look the way you appear online, it can feel a little offputting to the person meeting you for the first time, especially if they reasearched you beforehand. Build trust, keep it fresh.

Brian wanted to appear confident but approchable in his business portraits, and we think he nailed it!

        Barring Finance business headshots

White seamless paper is a great background choice for a fresh and modern look. It is also a good starting point for graphic design, especially if you think you might want to remove the background in any of your marketing materials or website, or if you need to leave room for copy. Here are a few from Rhona and Mark’s business headshot sessions for Barring Finance.

Dianna Major is doing something relatively new in the dental hygiene profession in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has her own clinic that is completely independent of a dentist’s office. It used to be that dental hygienists could only work in a dentist’s clinic, but now that legislation has changed, they are free to have their own space. Dianna is gentle, goofy (my kind of lady), and is passionate about helping people with their oral health. As well as running her business, she volunteers her time for oral health screening clinics, where she checks for common and serious health issues in your mouth.

Here are a few favourites from her session.

When Heather got in touch about getting some new head shots, she talked about wanting something a little more casual. She isn’t the kind of woman who wears a suit every day, and although she is in a professional field, she wanted to show off how warm and approachable she is.

At her last business portrait, she wore a white blazer and was photographed on a white background. In her case, this totally washed out her skin tone and didn’t really fit her style. This time we chose bright coloured clothing for the white seamless look, and then we switched to a light gray background for something a little less stark. As we went along, I showed her a few images on the back of the camera. She got a good seance of where we were going with the session, and gave me lots of different expressions for variety. Now she has a great collection of images that cover a range of uses from casual to professional.
