One could argue that little baby Lachlan is a family treasure, and while that is certainly true, Paul and Beth brought along a couple of other things that made his session even more special than it otherwise would have been.
Beth got in touch on Wednesday about doing a short notice session with their two week old baby while they were in town. They were coming to Halifax from Yarmouth (where they are newly settled), for a family visit and a wedding, and they decided to come up a few days early. As luck would have it, I had one appointment open the following day. Generally newborn photography sessions are held in my client’s homes, but we decided the studio would be best.
Lachlan is the biggest snuggle bunny I have ever met. The whole time he was here, he just wanted to snuggle and rock. The most amazing thing happened when we put him on the cream coloured baby blanket (belonging to Paul when he was small): Lachlan seemed to settle right down. Paul’s mother gifted them with the soft, hand knitted blanket for Lachlan, so it was extra wonderful to have. The beautiful baby quilt was also a gift, hand sewn for Lachlan by Paul’s step mother. All of the little ruffles on the back were stitched on, and then individually frayed; a family heirloom for sure.
