Book a session

I accept a limited number of bookings per month so that I can spend more time with each client. I recommend that you book your date as soon as possible to ensure availability. To hold the date simply pay your session fee in full and fill out the online booking form. The session is officially booked once I’ve confirmed it with you.

Consultation

During your phone consultation we can chat about places and things that are special to you and your children. Think about your style. Do you like funky and urban, or soft and natural? Is there a favourite toy that your child loves that you’d be ok having photos with? Has your family had any special times lately that you’d like to be able to capture in photos? You baby’s first tooth, your child’s fascination with soap bubbles, a family game of Frisbee at the park.

Where will you display your portraits? What colours are in the room you’ll display them? Are you drawn more to gallery wrapped canvas, traditional framed prints, or photo matted prints? Does lots of photos in an coffee table album feel best? Often times I we can incorporate colours or styles into your images that will compliment the decor of where they’ll be displayed.

Session

On the session day, we’ll meet at your chosen location. I use a mix of natural and portable studio lighting, and while I’m setting up we can chat and get to know each other better. Setup usually takes less than ten minutes.

The experience is fun and relaxed. I might ask you to smile and look at the camera, or I might ask you to look at each other and tickle. For families with older children, you might link arms and stroll down a path, talk amongst yourselves, or everyone cuddle in and pat your family dog. While it’s nice to have some “looking at the camera pictures”, often times the photos you’ll treasure most are the ones where we’ve captured a little moment.

Private screening and ordering

Your images will be ready three to four weeks after your session.  The private screening is at it’s best viewed on your flat screen television. I can connect to it by HDMI or VGA and we’ll watch your private screening in high definition with music. After the screening we can go through them one by one and select your favourites. Once we have things narrowed down, we’ll talk about how best to display them. We can pause to take measurements of the space to determine the best size for your images. Once we’ve decided on a size or a collection of sizes, we can tack up tissue cut to size to help you visualize how those dimensions will actually look on your wall.

Within 24 hours of your private screening, your secure online gallery will be ready for sharing with family and friends. This gallery is active for five days, and includes a shopping cart for online ordering. High resolution digital images are usually available within three to four days of ordering. All orders placed online and during your private screening must be paid in full before any work will be done.

When your order is ready, I will personally deliver it to your home or office or arrange prompt delivery if you live out of town.
