Photographing groups is always fun, especially when they are my fellow group members of BNB Halifax!

The BNB is a business networking breakfast group where members get to know and help each other with referrals. Our group relatively new, but you can check out our BNB Professional Networking website. It was really nice working with Jennifer yesterday at her house in Windsor Junction. She operates her marketing and graphic design business from her home, which I can totally identify with. She’s a business woman, a mom, a wife, and a pet owner, and she’s got it all going on!

When Neseret contacted me to ask about professional photography for her life coaching business, The Journey of Hope, we discovered that we had a lot in common. We both specialize in working with women.

She is following her passion for helping women be healthy in mind, body, and sole. What I really loved about her was her down to earth personality, and the way she draws on her own struggles and experiences in life to reach out to others.

I could hear her energy and passion as she described for me her vision, and I wanted to capture some of that tone in her images. With this in mind I asked her to take a little leap out of the box with me, and meet me in Bayer’s Lake for her session. Together we created some creative images that keep true to her caring yet professional attitude.

I can’t say enough good things about Jac McNeil of Highland Coaching. Her and I have worked together a lot as each others clients, and I highly recommended her as a business coach! Just a few of the things she has helped me with are finding my niche, strengthening and focusing my brand, and deciding who my right clients are.

Here are a few of my favourite images from our photography session at the beach. The goal was to provide her with images that were more casual, and made her appear really approachable.

When Amy called about getting her business portraits done, she was really clear about what she wanted: fresh images that captured who she really is. Ah men sister!

She went on to mention that one of her favorite images of herself is one that a friend took with a point and click camera. What she loved about it was that natural feel.

While we chatted I watched how she moved, and these movements became her poses. This led to some really fabulous images (which she tells me loves).

If you have had a peek at my business portrait photography you may have noticed my signature style (professional chic with no studio background)… but sometimes a gal just needs a no nonsense, regular, studio style portrait. If your business is formal and requires this kind of formal portrait, that doesn’t mean the experience has to be ordinary.

During my session with the ladies at RBC Royal Bank, we lost a cherished lipstick, laughed, made some great images, and found a cherished lipstick. That is the great thing about a mobile studio setup: it was fun and relaxed because the session happened right at the branch. Once we had what we needed, the ladies could get right back to their day.

Vanilla can be great! After all, I love vanilla… mmmm ice cream!

It was such a pleasure meeting Kelcy last week at her business portrait session! We hit it off right a way and we are going for coffee this Friday to chat about business and life. I really love connecting with other modern women, and it is the biggest reason I specialize in creating portraits of women at work, at play, and with their families!
