I recently held an Express Business Portrait special. The sessions were held at Mount Saint Vincent University, were 20 minutes long, and we used only the natural elements available for backgrounds. (The beautiful gray background is just and office cubical divider).
Here are my favorites from the special:

The Centre for Women in Business helps women business owners succeed in business. Myself included! They provide advise, information, business management skills training, and networking opportunities.
The Centre recently hosted their annual Premier networking event at MacInnes Copper’s Halifax branch. We all had the pleasure of listening to Cheryl Hodder Q.C, Regional manager of McInnes Cooper’s Halifax Office speak to us about how to create a climate of success for your business. What a great presentation, and a great evening of networking and entertainment!

A special thank you to Royal Bank of Canada for supporting Woman Entrepreneurs! They have recently started sponsoring informative workshop and networking sessions in Halifax. This session, they invited Halina St. James of Podium Media and Communications Coaching to speak. We were treated to several tips and tricks on how to improve your public speaking ability no matter what level you are at.

This will be the fourth time I’ve photographed Phoenix Youth’s annual fund raising gala event, and this year certainly wasn’t a disappointment! We were transported to another era for a glamorous, fun-filled evening held in support of Phoenix. I it was a true pleasure to donate my services again this year.

The Professional Photographers of Canada Atlantic convention is a great place for professional photographers to get together and talk shop. This year we had three prints accepted into the exhibition! The prints are judged anonymously and the audience is allowed to listen to the judges’ comments as they score the prints. We attend every year, and it’s always a wonderful experience!
Print title: “Night Watch”, Animal Class

Print title: “C.E.O. Re-appointed”, Editorial Class

Print title: “Strength of Love”, Wedding Portrait Class

Every year we attend the Professional Photographers of Canada Atlantic Convention and Competition. As part of the event we get to be a part of the annual shoot out competition. For the second year in a row, I took first place. It was really fun, and our 14 year old model Paxton was really fun to work with. The whole concept is that we are given a non-professional model and 10 minutes. The rules can change from year to year, and the photographers are not given any details beforehand.
Although it was obvious that Paxton was a little quiet by nature, she rocked our session!

Keiths Brewery Sessions | Halifax Portrait Photographer
January 4, 2010
Recently we’ve had the opportunity to photograph at the Keith’s Brewery, and it’s great! You get an Atlantic feel, but it’s indoors.
Here’s a couple from our session with Mary Jane Cops – The Phone Lady. She provides her clients with simple, logical and easy methods for improving their phone conversations.

Some people assume accounting is difficult, but when Nancy is around it’s easy! Her upbeat attitude really shone through during her session.
