Three month old Joanna was super cute during her session in her little white dress and tiny gold bracelets (a gift from her grandparents). In fact, Yang’s parents are visiting from China while she is small to help him and his wife Claire (Fang) with the baby… and if his parents happen to get to spend lots of time snuggling her and watching her grow, I am sure they wouldn’t say no.
When Claire and I planned the session, she said that she would like to have photographs of her baby girl like the ones on my website, and asked about a studio session. Almost all of the images you see on our site were actually created in my client’s homes. We use simple studio setups with blank walls for backgrounds, and if there aren’t any blank walls when I arrive, it’s usually just a matter of temporarily moving a piece of artwork or furniture. Yang and Claire’s home was perfect for photography, and the warm, rich tones on the walls made their skin tones look creamy and perfect. (I’m secretly jealous of Claire’s colouring)
Joanna (Anna for short) really liked being in the basket with the cream blanket and baby bonnet. She smiled and kicked her little feet, and had us laughing at how adorable she was. She is only small, but she is already mimicking sounds that you make to her. I think she’s going to be a smart child.
Here are a few of my favourite images from her session. It was really hard narrowing it down to just a few for her sneak peek post since we had many beautiful images to choose from.
