Newborn baby Clara | Halifax newborn photography

Jennifer and Paul just moved to Nova Scotia about four months ago with their two year old son William (Liam for short). They are all settled in now for the most part, just in time for the arrival of sweet baby Clara. Both of the children have beautiful names. (If you love Dr. Who, you’ll immediately think of Clara Oswald. It’s a wonderfully pretty name in it’s own right, and really suites her.)

One of the things that Jennifer told me when we planned the session, is that they love images that are free of to many props, preferring to keep the focus on the magic of new life. She also wanted to know if we could use a black background for some of the images, because they had done that with William’s newborn photos, and they ended up being the images they liked best from the session. What was great about this, is that it allowed us to focus on relational images that showed off how much Clara was loved, supported, and cherished as a new addition to their family. William even cuddled her for a few minutes, and he was very gentle with her.

A few highlights from their session:

Thank you for the time and care you took with our family. Your relaxed and professional attitude put us all at ease and made the newborn session, which can be long and stressful, a stress-free event. It was particularly good that you were able to do it in our home and we were impressed with the efficiency with which you set up an entire studio right in our living room! It was really important to us to have newborn photos of our second baby that captured this fleeting time and that included the whole family, and we really appreciated your enthusiasm about including our son in the photo shoot and about getting sweet pictures of all the little details. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures.
