You may remember Patrick and Ashley from their maternity session post, where I talked about the story behind their monkey themed nursery. Since they booked a Baby Plan (four sessions including maternity, newborn, six month and twelve month), I knew I’d see them again soon after their maternity session.
While Patrick and Ashley were in the hospital, Ashley’s sister came over and took care of their dog Jersie. The funny thing is, she is not a dog person. While they were away, Ashley got a message from her sister saying that she was sitting in the middle of the floor with their 80 pound lab sitting on her lap getting a good scratch. Pretty funny from Patrick and Ahsley’s perspective. Since she had access to their house, she surprised them with a cute welcome home sign, complete with a monkey on it.
Enter sweet little Charlotte. She has this cute habit of lifting her arms up around her head. Sometimes her tiny fingers cover her face, and sometimes they end up around her ears, almost like she’s trying to cross her arms behind her head. She also has found that her fingers are good to slurp on. It is amazing how fast her personality is taking shape.
In honour of the monkey theme, I couldn’t resist knitting a monkey set for Charlotte’s session. (Yes, I knit a lot of my own props. A great way to relax in the evenings, and I make one of a kind pieces.)
Here are Patrick and Ashley with their little monkey Charlotte, and their tail-wagger Jersie.
