I sensed right away that family is important to Jean Paul and Tanya. I get that. I feel the same. Jean Paul and his family are originally from Hantsport, Nova Scotia, but he and Tanya and their two boys now live in Alberta, and they haven’t seen some of their family here in about two years (which is an eternity when kids are young). Life goes by quickly, and it is good to make a special effort to spend time with those you love.
They decided to come together for a week long family vacation on the sandy beaches of Malagash, on the north shore of Nova Scotia. They came from all over: Alberta, Ontario, and southern Nova Scotia. Everyone was there: Jean Paul & Tanya with their two boys, Jean Paul’s parents Joe and Jean, Aunt Linda (also known as Aunty Ninny), his sister Marie with her husband and two girls, and his sister Arlene and her partner and their fur baby. There were many games of washer toss, squirt gun fights, and explorations in the tide pools on the shore. They may not see each other often, but when they do, they make it count. I bet the kids are going to be talking about this trip for a long time.
It was such an honour to help them capture some of the good times, to look back on when they are apart. Here is the briefest of teasers from their session. More to come soon.
