We first met Rebecca and Peter a few years ago when we photographed their wedding. We discovered that they are quiet and down to earth people, who love spending time with family. Their schedules are quite a bit busier now, since they moved to Newfoundland, started careers in medicine, and brought sweet baby Jasper into the world. (Isn’t that just the cutest baby name?) It was so delightful hearing all about what they have been up to since we saw them last, and playing with Jasper.
We started at Lawerencetown beach in the morning. It was warm and sunny as we made our way over the rocks down to the sand. Rebecca’s parents, Barb and Rob came for a few photos, and to help with their dog Jake… a big, strong, and beautiful golden retriever who LOVED the water. Peter had to practically sit on Jake in order to get him to stay put for a few photos of the whole family before letting him dive into the ocean for a dip. Once Jake got wet, he was happy (and so were we), and it made for a wonderful photo opportunity.
As the sun climbed higher in the sky, we decided to relieve tiny baby eyes and head back to Barb and Rob’s house nearby for a short break and a snack for Jasper. Their back yard was perfect, so we kept it simple and spread out a quilt under a tree for part two of the session. The shade, and our secret weapon “Piggy” (a cute little pink pig puppet worn by my husband Brodie), proved just the thing for big baby smiles.
Here is a sneak peek of a couple of my personal favourites from our time together while they were in town visiting family.
