These students in grades 10-12 from Junior Achievement’s Company Program, totally amazed me with their business savvy and leadership skills at the 2013 Pitch It! event at the World Trade and Convention Centre. These winning teams from their provincial regions had a chance to pitch their business plan to a panel of local business leaders and celebrity coaches and get feedback on their products and ideas.
In Junior Achievement, the kids get to learn vital business skills by creating, manufacturing and selling their own products over an 18-week period. During the event, I learned that the students are 50% more likely to run their own business. I wish I had been involved in JA when I was still in high school!
